welcome to the master plan

So I was on my way to the store tonight and I was listening to some particularly juicy Death Note podfic - and I mean, really, REALLY good stuff, both read and written beautifully, and so hot I probably shouldn't have even been listening in the car. Then, when I walked inside, I caught a glimpse of a magazine cover out of the corner of my eye. I thought I saw it say "Wank yourself thin!" and I thought to myself, oh, well, that should be easy. Upon closer inspection, the word was "walk" and my brain is evidently just very, very one-track sometimes. I swear I was giggling for the next ten minutes. I must have looked like a crazy person, at the grocery at midnight laughing to myself. SO totally worth it though.

Well, I've got 6 out of 10 sections recorded for the novel-length podfic I'm doing. It's long, but I absolutely love the material and it's been really fun to do. I read two whole sections tonight, and my throat hurts pretty bad, but it was just getting to the smexing and I couldn't resist! And man, I really enjoyed recording the porny parts. You might think it would be embarrassing, but no. It was quite enjoyable. Though for me, anything at all that involves Jensen and blowjobs is going to be quite enjoyable. In all seriousness, though, it really was fun and I would love to do more of it, if this one gets decent feedback. I haven't listened to the part with the sex scenes yet, so I suppose we'll see.

This has to be one of the strangest things I've ever done, no question. I mean, a fairly small minority of people even know what fandom is, and a fairly small minority of people within fandom even know what podfic is, and a fairly small minority of those people actually record it themselves. That has to be a relatively small number.

Yay Supernatural! I actually don't have much to say about tonight's episode, besides the fact that our boys look completely amazing in black and white! I mean, even prettier than usual. Especially Jensen. The lack of color makes you really appreciate the shape and lines in his face. I swear, that boy really must have been sent from heaven! I love the light, funny episodes of Supernatural, and I definitely enjoyed this one as well.

Also: I've been getting really into podfic lately, and I thought I might try it out. This is a test recording just to see if I could get the technical side to work at all. I read a really short Labyrinth drabble that I wrote a while back as my test text. I used my mp3 player to do the recording, then uploaded the file to soundupload.com. It's a .wav file, which I know is not the best, but that's what I can do for now. Plus, I've never recorded anything before, so the quality might be crap. But it worked, and if you'd like to give it a listen, here it is. I really enjoy reading aloud, so I'm probably going to play around some more with this.

ETA: Ok, this is fun. I may have recorded a few more of my pieces... *is quite possibly totally obsessed now* I found a way to convert the files to the mp3 format, and I switched to a different hosting site that I like better. So everything's download-only now.
