I'm almost embarrassed to be making this list, but I'm going to do it anyway.

Sometimes, when I've had a bad day, I like to go on YouTube and listen to the craziest music I can find. It's usually accompanying anime fanvids, which really only makes it better. There no pick-me-up better than some good crack!

And thus, for future reference, my list of crazy, cracked-out, feel-good music - now with links!

31 songs under the cut... )

I'm even weirder than you thought, right? Yeah. I know.

Favorite quote from tonight's reading:

"Danger is usually something he avoids, but the sight of Tamaki beneath him, destroyed and wet with his come makes Kyouya unable to think of much else."

-couture, on aff.net

I know, fairly standard stuff, but something about the word 'destroyed' in relation to Tamaki makes me shiver with happiness. *grin*

So Kyou Kara Maoh (or Kyo Kara Maou, or any one of half a dozen other spellings) is officially the SLASHIEST THING EVER. It's the only thing I've ever seen where the ho!yay is actually intentional rather than incidental. It's like the writers sat down and said, ok, you want gay subtext? We'll GIVE you gay subtext!

A good example is the scene I just watched. Two male main characters are sitting in the desert at night, talking. One of them shivers and complains about the cold. My inner fangirl screams this at them: OMG CUDDLE! And, unlike pretty much all my other fandoms, they proceed to do so. And then one falls asleep in the other's arms. And THEN they get handcuffed together, a plot device that I will NEVER GET TIRED OF, no matter how many times I see it!

I know some people have a problem with such blatant fanservice, but I say that if it brings the boylove, then bring it on!

*is really, really spending too much time watching anime/reading manga lately*

This is really just for personal reference - I'm burning through the stuff so fast that's it's highly likely I won't remember what I thought of each one.

Wow. There is some really, really twisted anime out there. The one I'm currently watching has super happy and fun graphics, but the main pairing is a high school kid and his dad. Seriously. I would be totally fine with it if it was presented as all dark and creepy, but it's so damn cheerful about the whole thing!

Eh, who am I kidding - I ship way too many incest pairings to complain about this one... :-)

So...I'm beginning to revise my opinions on anime and manga. There is a wealth of rather explicit yaoi out there, and it's really quite refreshing to actually see it happen instead of having to rely on subtext. Not that subtext isn't fun, of course, but...sometimes, you just want them to get it on. Therefore...yay for Japanese pop culture and its relative lack of homophobia!

Good GOD. Death Note is rapidly moving up in the list of Slashiest Things Ever. Seriously, what else could you take from this situation? They handcuff their two gorgeous main characters together, SKIP TWO ENTIRE MONTHS, and when we next see them, they're STILL handcuffed. Combine that with all the building tension throughout the first half of the series, and you KNOW something went down during those two months. That, my friends, is what we call blatant fanservice.
