An Update

I defriended her. It sucks because I really do like her fic, but in the past few days it's become very clear that if she wasn't in the wrong during the situation in question, she sure as hell is now in her seriously off-putting response.

Although...perhaps some personal good has come of the situation for me. There's a specific event in my past that I have always, always, always blamed myself for. And maybe that was wrong. I can't absolve myself of all blame, but reading some of the entries that have come about during this whole ordeal makes me think that perhaps it wasn't entirely my fault.

And now I am REALLY ready to go back to being excited for the finale. SPN is way more fun than real life.

What really gets to me in this whole situation, is that she is basically saying nothing happened unless you report it or have proof and in the majority of sexual assaults, it isn't reported because the victim is too scared, worried about retaliation, blaming themselves, etc.

And no, what happened back then was NOT your fault.

I'm sort of really happy I've never had anything to do with said person. I won't even make a post about all the shit that's been hitting fandom lately, because I declared a long time ago that while I may rant about RL stuff, I will not be negative about my show or fandom in any way. I'm glad I've stuck to it too, because I'd have a few colourful things to say about said person. What she's been doing is just...grotty.

And *hugs* for whatever went down in your past. I'm glad you're sure of yourself now. It's a freeing thing to be.

However, nothing can harsh my squee about this weeks finale. NOTHING.

I wasn't involved with the issue at all, but from what I'm hearing -- yeah, it seems like what you did was for the best. And I'm glad something good can come from this whole business. <3
