Only on a reread, because I like to appreciate the quality of the writing before I get all ~distracted how do I know if I want to wank to it unless I read it first?
:D
also, it never occurred to me at all that I was even remotely subby until I started reading A/T fic, and wanted SO MUCH MORE to be in Tommy's shoes than Adam's. it explained so much.

I think if Snarry BDSM/D/s fic hadn't already helped me see that part of myself, I'd be going MTE at this. :D
Those text boxes were too small to hold all my favourite kinks/tropes. I actually have very few DNW things, so... >.> (Scatpay is one though, so I should've said that. Didn't think of it til looking at other answers though. xD)
And I feel like I need to mention that though I definitely see myself as a sub, I could possibly switch if that was what my partner needed. In that context, it'd definitely still be being sub. To my mind, anyway. :P
And it's always easier for me to say what I dis-like rather than like. And depending on the author I read almost anything anyway. About the only things I seriously don't ever read - are serious non-con and scat.
I'm gonna comment and it's gonna be rambly and overshare, lol. Apologies in advance.
I honestly don't know why it never occurred to me to get off while reading fic. I love getting all hot and bothered and squiggly, but I think that I have such high standards literarily that I'm more focused on reading it and enjoying the writing than just getting off. Fic has relationships and investment and development and shiny vocabulary words (plus pretty people!) whereas porn is just the pretty bodies.
Also, I have to say that I love, love, love this fandom (bandom?) because it has aligned itself so well with my kinks. I've been through quite a few fandoms (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, that RPS, Rent being my main ones) and there's been a complete progression from fairly vanilla het to sort of D/s het (I shipped Snape/Hermione, I'll just confess it), to slash, to slash of allllll freaking types, and femmeslash. As I get deeper into fandom I've really learned more about my personal catches and D/s really crystallized as already apparent in my personality (what I thought was just Cancer sign neediness and control issues, lol). And to find a fandom where there are beautiful boys, who kiss, and people write crossdressing fic with constant (canon) throat grabbing, hair pulling, controlplay was like an amazingly delicious gift from literary heaven.
There seems to be a higher concentration of good D/s and BDSM writers here (even moreso than within the Harry/Draco comms in HP), or at least it's more keyed into my personal likings. It's really made me think more about enjoying actual pain rather than just the mental/emotional component of dom/sub relationships. I was actually reading a fic this morning ( http://archiveofourown.org/works/136795 ) that has been rattling around in my brain like none other because of the two aspects presented via Tommy & Cheeks.
One random thing I was contemplating lately, that may have been interesting to add into your poll is how I would feel (as someone who primarily reads Adam/Tommy) if the people I read RPS about actually got together in real life. And if I'd still be able to read fic or if that would be just too weird... And I haven't really decided yet. Just a thought, heh.
lol I was in the WWE fandom for over 10 years... and had only ever read their fic. Honestly WWE fandom's kink was not mild but just a lil more on the sadistic side where this fandom is just plain fucking kinky. I learned so many things in this fandom that WWE fandom would've squawked over, but oddly the biggest difference surprisingly for me was that barebacking in this fandom wasn't a common occurrence between casual fucks. While I knew it wasn't safe, WWE fandom rarely wrote in safe sex. *shrugs* That was a lot longer than I intended. Sorry for the babble.
I ticked "I don't think of myself in those terms" in addition to another answer because I'm still working those things out. Fic has definitely made me more exploratory & helped figure out what I truly like.
Can't wank while reading - definitely wank right after reading, tho - depending on the content. :-)
I didn't think water sports could be written in a hot way, but I have read one or two in this fandom that changed my mind. Still not a kink of mine, but now I will at least read it.
I never suspected exactly how subby I was until I read dom!Adam. I want to order him from a catalog!
