Fandom Shame

I think I understand a bit now why so many people are upset by the shoutouts to fandom, slash, and Wincest in last night's episode. I had no idea this was the case, but it seems like a lot of people in our fandom are ashamed of what they write. Why else would they be so embarrassed to be mentioned on TV? I, on the other hand, will talk about slash and Wincest with anyone and everyone, including immediate family. I see nothing to be ashamed of. I'm a writer. I write. About everything. Including gay incest.

I feel a little better knowing that the issues these people have are not really with the show, but with themselves.

I wonder if there's going to be a Wincest Writers Anonymous after the show is over. I think even if I wrote it, I'd still have thought it was funny.
