Oh, SPN fandom...

A quick synopsis:

*whine* If Sam fucks Ruby, that's rape and I don't like rape and how can Kripke condone rape and I'm beginning to think this show's not worth it and I'm about to lose all my love and respect for Kripke and OMG Sam's been totally character-fucked this season and that would be the last straw and WAAAHHHH!!! */whine*

This? Is stupid. For one, there is absolutely no reason to think this is what was meant by that spoiler that said one of the boys was going to have a shirtless (and presumably pantsless) sex scene this season is in reference to those particular characters.

Secondly...I don't really care. It's SPN, people. The show goes to some pretty dark places. Hell, and that's not even CLOSE to as bad as we get in our fanfiction! Come on. Man up. Let's say Sam does fuck Ruby. It's not the end of the world. I find it highly, highly unlikely that this would be condoned in the show. Sam has been getting progressively more...I don't want to say evil...perhaps leaning in a less-than-good direction this season? I see this as something he could realistically do, especially in a moment of strong emotion, grief or anger or whatnot. But condoning it? Dean would be pissed beyond belief - in fact, I could even see that as being the motivating factor for him to finally "turn on" Sam, in a sense. It's a perfectly fine plot device, people. Chill.

Thirdly...I hate how people can profess endless love for Dean/Castiel and then flip the fuck out over Sam/Ruby. IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME, PEOPLE. In fact...Dean/Castiel could even be seen as worse, because if the angel possession works just the same way as the demon version, that vessel is dead. Which makes it not rape, but necrophelia. So there.*

Basically, my point is, yet again: CHILL THE FUCK OUT. STOP BEING SO DAMN JUDGEMENTAL OF EVENTS THAT HAVEN'T EVEN TAKEN PLACE YET AND POSSIBLY NEVER WILL.

PS: I'm SO PRO any sex scenes by the boys, because we've got some damn talented manipulators in this fandom, and that's just always going to end well.

Eeek! I would hate to think that the writers on SPN can find no other way to orchestrate Dean turning on Sam than having Sam commit rape. There's something really sleazy about using rape as a plot point, especially when committed by one of our protagonists.

I do agree that people should wait and see what actually turns out as canon before getting upset though.

I agree with you that it's not the best way to advance this particular story, but I wouldn't be offended if they did it.
