In the Beginning

I'm a week behind on SPN episodes, so I just got to watch 4x03, "In the Beginning." And OH MY GOD was it amazing!
YAY ALL DEAN EPISODE!!!! I like Sam well enough, and I LOVE Wincest, but if the show was about Dean by himself, I would totally still watch it. He's one of my favorite characters ever. And to get SO MUCH of him was amazing!
I agree with all the people who've been saying that Jensen looks especially pretty this season. I was sighing with happiness at some of the shots of him, including that very last one. Yum!
Mary being the hunter originally instead of John was completely awesome and unexpected. Her character was sweet.
Seeing Azazel again was cool, though I wish they'd gotten the same actor back.
I love the reference to the "endgame." This is a fabulous way to tie the whole show together - keep what's happening now very related to the events of the pilot.
Castiel continues to grow on me with every episode.
That was SO SAD when Mary was talking about how the worst thing she could think of would be her children becoming hunters. God, my heart goes out to Dean in every episode, but that was especially heartbreaking.
I LOVE WHERE THIS STORYLINE IS HEADED. I AM SO PRO BROTHER VS BROTHER I CANNOT EVEN EXPRESS IT. Ok, so we all know Sam and Dean were meant to be. I think they'll be back together - or at least reconcile with each other - before the end. But I would LOVE to see some knock-down, drag-out fighting before that moment comes. This is also awesome because it continues to tie in to earlier parts of the show. We never got any resolution on the "Sam is the Antichrist" storyline, so John's final order to Dean is still valid and could come into play. It sounds horribly cruel, but I would love to see Dean struggle with this - having to choose between Sam and the world. I loved that moment in "Croatoan," when all Dean's good judgement goes out the window and he flat-out refuses to kill - or leave - Sam. It just all feels big and epic and heartbreakingly full of angst and strenuous on Sam and Dean's relationship, and those are all good things. We've seen Sam and Dean working together for a long time. Let's see them work against each other for a while...just so long as their love for each other wins over everything else in the end!
Of course, things could go in a completely different direction than what I've projected above. And I'm ok with that, too. This show has been consistently awesome, in my opinion, from the very beginnning. Therefore: in Kripke I trust!
I can't WAIT for the CW website to upload tonight's episode so I can see what happens next!
This wasn't my very favorite episode of SPN, due to lack of brotherly interaction (that honor still rests with "Mystery Spot"), but it very well might be in second or third place. It was really exceptionally good!
