Just finished reading "Last Outpost Of All That Is," and I think it broke me. Before this, the best fic I had ever read was ladyofthemasque's "In Annulo," which is a lovely novel-length Snape/Hermoine alternate book seven. But "Last Outpost" has just taken the number one spot, no question. I feel...changed, somehow, after reading it. The same way I felt like a different person when I finished the Dark Tower series. Some things are just so good that they feel real, and they effect you in very real ways. I think this story just became my personal canon for what ends up happening to the Winchester boys, no matter where the show goes. In fact, I think this one is not only getting saved to the hard drive, but printed out as well. It was just, in a word, perfect.
