Know what I hate? When I'm reading a perfectly good fanfic, all into it and everything, and then I come across some terrible rookie mistake that ruins the whole mood. For example: any self-respecting slasher knows that you never, ever use the word "butt" in a sex scene. It just doesn't work. "Ass" is slightly better, but preferably you don't directly refer to body parts at all. If you're a decent writer, you can get away with just using vague terms and pronouns while still letting the reader know exactly what you mean.
I'm really thinking I might steal this fic and remix it for my own personal enjoyment. Because most of it is quite good, but it wants some editing to really be a satisfactory read. Is that wrong of me, assuming I don't share it with anyone?
