sulwenSo I'm watching old episodes of The Daily Show on the Comedy Central website. And man, 1999 Jon Stewart is...rather pathetically adorable. I just want to hug him and say, it's ok, no one noticed you struggling through that laugh-free interview, I promise! It's amazing how much he's improved over the years. It's almost sad to love an ongoing TV show so much, because I'm going to be pretty crushed when it ends.
Also, the headlines in '99 seem awfully naive compared to today. I mean, all that uproar about the whole Monica Lewinsky thing? You watch it today, and it's nothing. It seems ridiculous after everything Bush put the country through. You know?

Date: 2008-05-13 03:21 pm (UTC)It was pretty ridiculous back then too. The only problem is that Clinton got caught and no one had anything better to do, so they made a huge deal out of it. Like he's the only one that got head while in office or screwed around on his wife. At least the girl was of age, unlike that senator who was text messaging (or instant messaging, whatever) the teenage girl who worked as a page. Though, I do have to admit that I smile everytime a GOP member is found out to have a gay affair. Maybe they want to take away gay rights just because they like the taboo of it all ;)
