sulwen | SPN 4x20 and American Idol (Reply)

This week's episode did not really fill me with squee. HOWEVER: I really don't care. It functioned almost entirely as a bridge to the next two weeks, for which I. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

I love Misha, and if someone's going to take away screentime from my boys, I'd rather it be him or JDM than anyone else. Still, though...I miss my boys! I need my weekly fix!

Speaking of...I've heard some complaints about the extremity of Sam's addiction this week, and I think they're unfair. I KNEW there was a reason they showed us all those shots of Sam losing blood last week, and it paid off this week. I think that to claim that's just the fans being smart and that the show didn't intend it to happen is really ungenerous and a little arrogant. No offense to anyone, but come on - they're thinking about this stuff, too. I promise.

I absolutely adored the ending. Dean and Bobby locking Sam up was probably one of the best show-ending scenes they've EVER had, and I totally think that it's exactly how both those characters would react at this stage. Yay locked-up, animalistic, detoxing Sammy!

Also, Sam with the blood all over his mouth? HOT AS FUCK. I was BEGGING him to lick the blood off the knife, but that might have been a little much for network TV. But a girl can dream, right? I love that bloodplay has been written into CANON! *wants more bloodplay fic please thanks!*

The preview literally had me gasping. I think I felt more in those few seconds than the whole rest of the episode put together. The next two weeks should be EPIC.

As for Idol...I've been getting torrents of this season here and there, finding what episodes I can get decent seeding for - so I haven't watched it all. Two things, though:

- My mom told me I had to go online and watch some of the show because she thought I would absolutely love Adam Lambert. Guess what? SHE WAS TOTALLY RIGHT. That boy is amazing in every way - beautiful, crazy talented, and oh-so-gay!

- I was looking up info about the finalists and I saw that the other frontrunner - Danny - is a devout evangelical Christian. I was just about to roll my eyes and write him off (which I know is terrible and prejudiced, but still...how many awesome evangelicals do you know?), when I thought to myself: THIS PAIRING COULD BE EPIC. Seriously dedicated Christian meets super over-the-top gay boy? Shares living space with him for weeks at a time, isolated from everyone else? SINGS LOVE SONGS with him? It's perfect! Now I want I-love-god-but-I-love-you-more fic! And sexual identity crisis fic! And we-got-really-drunk-and-fucked-but-now-I'm-going-to-hell fic! WANT WANT WANT.

I think I'm going to have to take off work for the finale, especially if it comes down to those two. *grin*
