Jun. 25th, 2010 05:53 amFound a discussion forum for people with my particular phobia (it's called emetophobia, apparently, the fear of vomiting or seeing someone else vomit) tonight. It was actually really helpful to read about other experiences, though a bit triggery for me to think about it so much. There was an incident at work today - I didn't actually see it, but just knowing it was there was enough to have me holding my breath the rest of the shift.
I don't know if I can ever think about really getting help, though. It seems to involve exposure to the thing your fear in order to desensitize you or reprogram your responses or something, and I really don't know if I could handle that.
