When you see this, post a SPN quote:

"I think I'm adorable." - Dean

...he's totally right. :-)

...even though it seems like parts of fandom really hate her:

Well, he [Castiel] certainly has been a hit with fans. Were you nervous about bringing him into the show?

No, I wasn't. I saw five minutes of dailies from our season premiere, and I said, "That guy is going to be the biggest thing since Sam and Dean." [Creator and executive producer] Eric [Kripke] and Bob [executive producer Robert Singer] were like, "Well, he's really good, but …" And I was like, "No, you don't understand. Within an hour of this airing there are going to be little avatars of him and there are going to be fans sites about him." And they're like, "You think?" "Yes, I'm positive."

First of all, he has this rock-star entrance. And there's chemistry between him and the boys. And there's a way that his character is positioned that is both ominous and helpful. He doesn't quite threaten the relationship between the brothers, which is always the danger zone for characters we introduce. He's male, which is helpful. And he's played by Misha, who is very talented.

LOOK AT THAT ANSWER, GUYS. SHE TOTALLY GETS IT.

More proof that Jim Beaver is made of awesome (as if you needed it!):

Stolen, again, from [livejournal.com profile] missyjack, who has some totally awesome stuff in her "Pinkshirts and Tinhats" post.

Evidently there's been some big to-do going on for a while about race issues in SF/F? Anyone heard of this "Railface" thing?

I guess people are really passionate and into it. I, personally, kind of can't bring myself to give a shit. I mean, freedom of speech, right? I may not agree with racist viewpoints, but if you want to go off and write the most racist fucking novel that's ever been seen, you totally have the right to do that. I have the right to not read it. Same deal with feminism. Go, write ridiculously male-oriented fiction. I have the right to not read it...even though, knowing me, I totally would. I'm a huge, huge supporter of gay rights...but if someone wants to write an extremely homophobic novel, they can do that. It might royally piss me off, but I'll still never say that they shouldn't have been allowed to write it.

People talk about the price of freedom. In my mind, this is it. Freedom means the stupid people are free to be stupid.

And that's all.

Oh my god, did you guys just see Jon absolutely take it to Jim Cramer? It was heart-stoppingly brilliant.

I've seen Jon do this before, pretend like it's all going to be a big joke and then go totally balls-to-the-wall serious with it. I respect the man to no end for having the courage to do that.

I actually felt a tiny bit bad for Cramer. He clearly wasn't expecting it, so he pretty much just took his punches and was a good sport about the whole thing.

Seriously. Go watch it. It is a thing of beauty.

GO JON. SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER. TELL IT LIKE IT FUCKING IS.

Also: while we're speaking politics, may I just say how incredibly awesome I think the first fifty-some days of Obama's administration have been? That man gets shit done. I have never been so proud of this country in my life. YAY.
