True Blood!

Tonight's wasn't my favorite episode...but what an ending! Sookie running through the graveyard in her white nightgown, kissing him with his fangs out, practically begging him to bite her and him actually going through with it...and that last shot, all skin and blood and tongue...that was seriously awesome.

Ouran Dub

Funimation is streaming the first two episodes of the Ouran High School Host Club dub. I did a side-by-side comparison of the English and Japanese versions of the first episode, just to see how they did.

The English version is ok. It's certainly watchable, and they don't seem to have changed much in the way of meaning. The best part of it? I'm completely in love with Kyouya's English voice. Mmm, deep and sexy and awesome (I actually mistyped that as "aweseme" the first time, which I find far too amusing - because in my fic, he always tops!) - I think I'm going to be a bigger fan of his from now on just because of it. However, Tamaki's English voice is definitely not my favorite. He's far, far better in Japanese. And since he's my favorite character, that's a big deal for me. He just sounds too young in English. Yeah, he's a little silly, but you have to be able to take the character seriously for the show to work. I don't know if I can do that with his English voice.

Conclusion: both have their merits, but I'll likely watch the Japanese version most of the time...the only exception being when I want to hear Kyouya's incredibly fabulous dub!

Batman Casting

So Matt thinks that Robert Sean Leonard looks like an older Heath Ledger, and thinks he should be considered for the role of Joker in the next Batman movie. Check out the comparison pictures. What do you think?

I think that they do look alike, and would look even more similar with the makeup...but the only thing I've ever seen RSL in is House, and he's so soft-spoken and nice in that show. Could he really pull off psycho killer?
