Absolutely terrifying to hear about the events of the last few days. None of my favorite communities have been effected by the Great LJ Purge of '07, but I really feel for those that were. It bothers me that so much effort, so much time could be erased forever with the push of a button. Fandom is strong, I know, and will survive anything, but it's terrible that something like this could have happened due to the actions of a group of fanatics that obviously didn't know what they were doing and didn't care how many innocent people got hurt. I'm always disappointed when anything like this happens, but I guess some things are just too good to last. Whenever something gets big enough to be effective, someone comes in and ruins it.
