SPN Fic Rec

"Last Outpost of All That Is" by b stearns

Supernatural, Sam/Dean

Winchesters were built for world-endings.

This is a new fic genre for me: apocalypse!fic. Which seems to be quite common in this fandom, actually. I've barely started it and it's already completely fabulous. There's a difference between fic that is just good and fic that is excellent - as in, publishable quality - and you can pretty much tell within a paragraph or two which it is. This is excellent.

I've read this before...it *is* amazing. The kind you want to read and the start right over again. :)

Wow, so I just went and checked out your memories, and my GOD you have a lot of fic saved! I mean, I've read a ridiculous amount of fic in my day, but you actually went to the trouble of SAVING everything you really liked, and that is awesome. And I am going to shamelessly use it as my reading list for the near future. Because almost 1000 SPN recs? Yes please! :-)

You, my dear, are the only person who's bothered to go look at my memories without being told to. I am a reccer's wet dream! *rotfl*

They're not as well ordered as I'd like, because it's hard to keep up. I'm trying to put clues in the headers so that I can find fics for searches, like "sex pollen" or "amnesia fic", etc. It's an ongoing project. *grins*

I'm multi-fandom, but SPN has a way of consuming your brain.

Well, I usually don't go poking through people's memories at random, but I noticed that you had an unusually large number of them and wondered what they all were. And I'm glad I did!

I've noticed the brain-consuming aspect of this fandom. In fact, this is one of the only times I've gotten interested in a show BECAUSE of the fandom. I noticed all this SPN fic around, and I was like, well, all those fangirls have got to be on to something! And I was right... :-)

You're more than welcome to rifle through any of my memories that you're interested in-that's partly why I saved 'em. The Dean/Sam is toppy Dean; and the Sam/Dean is toppy Sam. I'm still sifting things into different categories-I put the ones I'm not sure of in the general "SPN" file, and things that come up on spn_storyfinders in the "links to check out" file. Very organized in a massively disorganized way. *grins*

I've been in LOTR (briefly, before I fled like the hounds of hell were snapping at my hees); in HP, where I still help run some groups, though they're not very active any more & I'm kind of losing interest; lightly involved in various small fandoms, like Narnia (yay!)...but SPN is probably THE single-most talented, active, charismatic, and CRAZY fandom, ever. So many talented writers and artists, so many comms that are just bubbling with activity; but the wank will drive you mad, if you let it.

I've finally removed most of the comms from my flist, due to that. I've got the spn_newsletter & the storyfinder comm, maybe one or two others...and some people I'm friendly with. I rarely know what controversy people are talking about any more and I like it that way. :)
